Important Information for your Wild Wood Rangers sessions
What to bring and wear to our sessions?
"There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing” its really important that we dress according to the weather so they enjoy their experience. And remember for the colder and/or wetter weather there will be shelter to keep us dry, a fire to keep us dry and as always food to keep us going!!
-
clothing that you dont mind getting muddy
-
Gripped and closed toe footwear is essential for physical play
-
A rucksack for all your belongings
-
We always cook our snack at Forest school so please bring a bowl, plate and spoon and mugs for a hot drink
For colder/wetter weather I recommend
-
2-3 layers including a fleece layer/merino wool
-
Fleece lined wellies or snowboots
-
All in one splash suits/ski suits are highly recommended,
-
Waterproof winter coat
-
gloves and hats for colder weather.
-
I also recommend these great little handwarmers :https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hands-Hand-Warmer-Value-pairs/dp/B00N3X3JLI/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=handwarmers&qid=1571919583&sr=8-5
For warmer weather I recommend:
-
long sleeved tops and waterproof trousers to prevent ticks and midges, protection from brambles
-
A hat for when its sunny
-
Wellie boots for the marshy boggy areas and a change of footwear such as trainers for other types of physical play.
-
suncream-please apply beforehand
-
Antihistamines/insect repellent
